FAQ
Short answers to common questions.
Will Kata start sending on its own?
No. Kata never activates a campaign, a mailbox or a domain by itself. The agent asks for your approval first. Kata does pause things by itself, when bounces rise.
Why is my campaign not sending?
Run scheduler_dry_run. It names what blocks each email: campaign status, mailbox or domain status, chosen mailboxes, daily caps, the lead's local hours, or leads not due yet. Also check that each step has a live angle and that leads passed the email check.
Does Kata track opens?
No. Emails are plain text with no pixel. Kata judges angles on clicks, interested replies and conversions. See Tracking.
Can I send HTML emails?
Not for now. Kata sends plain text, like a personal note.
What happens when someone replies?
Kata sorts the reply. Any reply except an out-of-office stops the sequence. Interested people show in leads to call. Unsubscribe requests go on the suppression list.
Can a lead be in two campaigns?
A lead can be enrolled in several campaigns over time, but is never live in two sequences at once.
How do I stop everything now?
set_sending with on: false, or the global switch in the app. It pauses every active campaign and cancels the emails already planned. Mailboxes are not touched.
How do I test an email?
preview_email shows it as a lead would get it. send_test_email sends it to your own inbox, from any mailbox, without touching a campaign or a lead.
Do email checks cost money?
The free pass at import costs nothing. The full check before the first email uses Kata's own verifier; only when a server will not answer does Kata fall back to a paid check, about $0.002 per address.
Can I delete a campaign or contacts?
A campaign that never sent, yes. One that sent can only be paused. Contacts that were never emailed can be deleted; for the others, use suppress.
Where can I see everything?
query runs one read-only SQL query on your Kata data, up to 200 rows. Its description lists every table and column.
