Email checks
Kata checks every address in two passes, so cold email does not bounce.
Pass 1: free, at import
Every new address gets it, whatever the source:
- syntax;
- typos of big providers, like
gmial.com, with the fix; - disposable domains;
- role addresses like
info@; - whether the domain has a mail server.
Invalid addresses get status invalid and never enter a sequence.
Pass 2: full, before the first email
Right before a lead's first email, Kata asks the recipient's mail server whether the mailbox exists, without sending anything. When that server will not answer, Kata asks MillionVerifier (about $0.002 per address). Catch-all and still-unknown addresses go to a decision model that weighs what is known about the domain.
The result is a decision: send, skip (the lead becomes invalid and leaves its sequences), or retry (no answer from anyone; Kata asks again in 6 hours). Follow-ups are never checked again.
Checking a list now
check_emails checks addresses on demand. mode: "free" costs nothing (up to 2000 addresses). mode: "deep" adds the mailbox check (up to 200, about 2 to 10 seconds per 10 addresses) and can cost up to $0.002 per address. The result says what it cost.
Kata already runs both passes by itself, so you rarely need it.
