The agent and Canvas
Kata has its own agent built in. It runs Kata with the same tools as the MCP server. Nothing to install.
The built-in agent
Open the agent in the app and say what you want in plain words. It reads your numbers, writes briefs and angles, imports leads, and sets up mailboxes. It can do everything the app pages do: contacts, lists, mailboxes, campaigns, angles, emails, and read-only SQL for anything else.
- Attach a CSV and the agent gets its file key to import it.
- Attach a document about your company or a campaign, and it offers to save it as context.
- A campaign session works on one campaign, with its
brief.mdalways loaded. The agent keeps the brief current as things are decided. - It replies in the language you write in, and writes emails in the language of your briefs.
What it asks first
The agent never does these without your clear yes in the conversation:
- activate a campaign, a mailbox or a domain, or resume sending;
- bulk changes to contacts (it runs a dry run and tells you the count first);
- imports and deletions.
Every call of a tool that changes something is logged as an audit event, from the agent and from MCP.
The Canvas
The Canvas draws each campaign as a flow:
- Leads: the lead lists that feed the campaign. Draw an arrow from a list to a campaign to connect them.
- Sequence: each step with its live angles and the share of new sends each one gets.
- Mailboxes: how sends split between mailboxes.
- Results: sent, clicks, replies, interested, conversions, revenue.
Comments the agent acts on
Leave a comment on any block of the Canvas, like "this angle is too long" on a step. The agent gets the comment with what the block shows, does it, and replies in one to three sentences. Each campaign has one Canvas session, so comments build on each other. The usual rules apply: it still asks before activating anything.
